Frank E. Baker has lived in Alaska since 1946. In 1974 he received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, with a minor in English. He has previously published magazine articles in Alaska as well as poetry, including The Conifered Heights, which is available on this site. From 2001-2006 he produced a weekly radio program, “Conversation Continued,” on Anchorage FM radio station KLEF.
At this printing, he is 64 years old, but continues to actively explore Alaska’s backcountry, taking photographs and writing about his outdoor adventures. He is currently working on a fourth book, primarily prose, about his outdoor adventures. He resides in Eagle River with his wife Rebekah.










Hello Frank! I am an avid hiker & amateur photographer. I’ve been considering doing Bold Peak & some of the higher (walk-up) peaks. How was the route up the “back” of Bold? ……..Stunning photographs! Keep them coming! Thanks!
